R&R Arcade is designed to help reinforce the basic concepts found in CDS content. Each learning session is presented in a fun, interactive format. It’s based on proven research that shows games are a powerful, effective way to reinforce learning.

DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONALISM:
HEALTH INSURANCE PORTABILITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY ACT OF 1996 (HIPAA)

This new learning session is based on a memory game format where the learner matches picture tiles on a grid to get nuggets of review information. The course is designed to supplement Lesson 6 in the CDS Direct Support Professionalism course, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).

This new HIPAA review learning session covers several key areas, including:

• Why HIPAA was enacted in the United States.
• The four primary areas covered by HIPAA.
• Consent for release of private health information.
• Standardized transactions by provider organizations.
• Security issues and procedures.
• The role of the direct support professional in protecting the private health rights of those being supported.
